Making grief and wonder dolls has to be one of the most special calls I've answered.

They help me commune more deeply with the unseen/unnamed and bring it into some type of form. A form that lives outside of traditional beauty and art standards.

They are spirit dolls. They help us grieve and remember how to dance. They keep lines of connection open between moments, loved ones and parts of ourselves that demand more attention than we can give without having a physical reminder.

Wonder and Grief dolls usually incorporate symbolic items but almost always start with a rock, or a piece of wood from the earth.

Dolls can be a phenomenal part of our healing and the healing of others.
